My guess would be for ground clearance numbers. This thing would probably rock on a desert course.

But wouldn't it be better if they just leveled it, 22" front and 22" back?

Looks to me from the pictures like they had to use the 22s in the rear to clear the IRS components. Just my 2 cents

True that. In Honda's latest press release that is what they said, they wanted to make the rear arms as long as possible so they had to use a bigger rim.
