Optimizer/Power Commander Necessary?
« on: December 07, 2008, 09:33:54 PM »
I am getting a FMF powercore exhaust, a FMF PowerBomb Header, and Velocity Air  intake.  Just wanted to know if it is imperative to get an optimizer or a power commander kit?  Is it okay to just run the bolt-on parts?

You absolutely will need a power commander.

Awesome.  Good to know.  Looks like i will be saving a little bit longer i suppose.
Do you know if Honda dealers/shops will tune it for you once u get the optimizer?  (doin it myself  seems difficult and a bit foreign to me and last thing i need is to mess it up beyond repair).

They  come preset already, You would not need to adjust it but it is easily done if you needed to

From what I have researched, the optimizers are very easy to tune/adjust. I'll let you know firsthand next week after I get my HMF pipe and optimizer installed.

The Power commander has more tuning options but is about 125.00$ more than the optimizer. I'll let my HMF optimizer go for 180.00 shipped. Has 6 hrs run time
