Hate to burst your small and insignificant bubble but after riding one today i dont think the difference is big. The low end on the raptor feels a bit stronger but the mid and top hp king i think falls to the 700xx. Im not just sayin this for kicks niether. I own one of the fastest raptors ever built so im not dissing on them. Just my oppinion. Ill update with a dyno run soon.

What is the point of a Raptor? I would rather get a 450, they are faster, better handling, and they are lighter.

The 700xx on the other hand has a specific use where it will be faster and better than the 450s. IRS + Comfort + Honda 700cc engine + Chain =  ;D

Ok, so how fast is a raptor?   Today with my gps mounted I got 78 MPH out of my stock 700xx.  I am sure that it will go faster yet but I had to back off.

I do not know about the other people that got their 700xx's but I am so impressed with the bike.  Honda really did it right.  Thumbs up Honda.

I think the 700XX will be great at what it was designed for..TRAILS!  It wont be the quickest in a drag race, or out corner or jump better than every other production quad, but it will be choice for the trails I think.

Honda builds a great machine, as does Yamaha, KTM and every other major player. You have to decide what type of riding you do, then find the quad that suits those needs. If you live in the trails, the 700XX has to be on your list.

If you love some MX style riding, it prob wouldnt be a good quad for you.

Dirtwheels and others are testing it now. Junes issue should tell everybody what they have been wanting to know. "How good is the 700XX"  Overall I think the Raptor will win the shootouts, but the 700XX should dominate the trails portion. Im not an expert by any means, just my opinion which really doesnt amount to shit I guess.

I agreee with you 100%. All this talk about which is faster is retarded. A Raptor may stay ahead of me for a while on the trails, but as the trails get rougher and the day gets longer it will be my XX pulling away from the rest....

Our riding group consists of a Raptor, Outlaw, and 3 450r's, I would pick the Outlaw over the Raptor in ANY situation except fit and finish/build quality... The Outlaw is just as fast (very minor differences speed wise), it is more forgiving on jumps, more comfy, and it is faster in the rough trails.

It's kinda hard to get over the quality difference in the fit and finish of the Outlaw compared to the Raptor though. Even though that doesn't mean squat on the trails. I almost bought the Outlaw , but I just couldn't do it. I cna't wait to get out on my XX again, hopefully in the next two weeks!

Hey Guys

Well I had my 700xx out in the sand and there was not a hill it wouldn't go up.  Just plain tires.  The bike is an animal.

I have read the article from dirt wheels.  They are sided with the Rapter.  I do not agree with their findings.

I rode my 700xx "stock" and had no problems.  It will side hill just as good as the Raptor.  I think the problem with the magazine riders is, "they ride sport quads and nothing else."  I started riding on 4x4 quads and now I ride the 700xx, with that being said and the fact that Honda made the bike for Utility riders, we know how to ride the bike and can ride it better than the straight axle riders.  All I am saying is that it takes a utility bike rider to know just how to get the best out of 700xx.  For me it is the best all round bike out there.   The magazines complain about the weight.  I have not noticed a problem.  It does not feel heavy when you ride it.  People complain about gearing I do not see a problem in any gear.  You can lug it down and hit the throttle and it will respond great, even surprising you at times with a wheelie.  For climbing sand hills I could use 2nd, 3rd or 4th and just walk up the hills.   The bike was flawless.

I am so glad that I have purchased this bike.  It is perfect for me.   One happy owner.
Happy riding all.

Yes, after reading a lot of the early reviews, I was on the fence about even buying one. Then I pulled the trigger and was very happy about it. I just don't get all the bad reviews it has gottne from some of the magazines. I would say one thing about the gearing. In my opinion, third gear is tall and very WIDE. If you lug it down too far in third on the trail, it does not like to pull out of it. That is about the only complaint I have about it. I'll be out on mine again on Father's Day weekend, can't wait to get on it again!
