Weak alternator?

Not sure where else to post this... I just purchased a new '08 700 two days ago.  the dealer told me not to run the headlights, even while its running, or it will drain the battery.  has anyone else on here heard of this problem or dealt with it themselves.  it doesnt say anywhere in the manual about this happening - and shouldnt the motor put out enough power to run the headlights and keep the battery charged anyway?

 I wouldn't leave the lights on without the engine running but I never once had trouble starting mine when running the lights at night

i never hade  my lights off once since i got mine and i hade left them on for 30min with out the engine runing. never hade my battery died if ur dealer hade the battery  in and set up already then it may already be bad from just sitting there. my dealer setsup the battery when u buy it so that its fresh.
