Re-mapping of EFI
« on: June 18, 2008, 06:51:34 AM »
I'm posting this quote from a member at another forum. If this is true, it is good news! I've asked for his source, so I'll keep you posted...

"I've already read where Honda has already prepared a more sport oriented mapping on the fuel injection to give it the low end grunt that has been noted lacking, and that will take the engine out of the best emission mapping, but boost the low to mid range significantly. "

Hopefully this is not a bunch of bs.......

Would not supprise me if there was a HRC kit for the 700XX. The TRX450 has the kit with a wire mod that taps in to a diferent ignition map.

This type of thing is now the norm for the manufacturers; Suzi has the Cherry Bomb, Honda has the wire mod for the CRF and TRX, Can-Am has a wire mod, KTM has a switchable ignition and Yamaha have the GYTR kits.

We'll find out soon enough.......

Yes, that is what I was alluding to. Even the KTM has this "feature". I'm really frustrated with my local dealer though. They couldn't even tell me what size (model#) oil filter is supposed to be. :-\

"We don't have the "fiche" yet"

Funny, that is the same thing that my dealer told me too, then they called another dealer and they even said the same thing (referring to the oil filter). They did figure it out though, so I bought two.

I don't know if it is the same part. I'll get the number off of the packaging and post it for you later today.

So I dropped that part No in to Google and a list of XR650 stuff came up........so in future if your dealer is a tool just ask for a XR oil filter.
