uncorked in N.Z
« on: July 11, 2008, 08:22:04 PM »
I have just uncorked mine a little and it seams to of helped her a lot !!!
I took the spark arrester out and took the baffle out of the air box,, I know this may make it run a little lean so Im running a 50/50 fuel mix of AV gas and 95 pump gas,, this raises the octane to 100,,, the AV fuel also gives the slight affect of running rich which counters the extra air flow !!! ... Its basic but works well,,,mine pulls harder of the bottom now and revs out much more freely and it cost me 0 dollars so I recon its worth doing cause she was a bit flat out of the show room...
 And hello from New zealand

I ran mine without the baffle in olast weekend. I was louder and farty, but I can't say it was faster. I didn't want to remove the baffle out of my airbox until I got an outwear for my filter.

I want to say that I removed the baffle in the air box and found out that the 700 did not like to run without the baffle.
The bike kept stalling out and as soon as I put the baffle back in the bike ran just fine.

I uncork mine the first day i got it, plus i removed the cover on the air cleaner ant it was an other bike ! I always use prémium gaz in my bikes (45) years off trail motorcycle riding. Before the trx 700,3 months ago, my last bike was a XR650 with the open kit sold by Honda, big exaust tip, open air cleaner, needle, ang bigger jet.
