Hey folks, New to this site & to this quad. Just got it & it's only mod is the pipe. Runs great but has a 'dead" spot right after touching the throttle then the power comes on like a mad dog & upon letting of the throttle will backfire/pop a little. Closed off the airbox a bit & the "dead" spot is gone but now backfires/pops a lot when letting off the throttle. Please give me your suggestions to overcoming these problems.

vGood Golf Course

A good Golf Course will demand players return time and time again to pit their abilities against the course. It is a brilliant icebreaker and once you’ve played with the taylormade r9 460 driver a round of golf you suddenly appreciate a whole new world and language. ishiner

Golf Swing Skills

If the wind is blowing in your face, do not try and swing harder, this will only cause the ball to spin at a higher rate, thus increasing the velocity of the ball flight with the discount golf clubs. And everyone knows you want to keep the ball as low to the ground as possible into the wind. ishiner

The Golf Course is the Real Challenge

On iron shots, be sure to place the ball back in your golf clubs for sale and grip down on the club. One of the most compelling things about golf is that it demands complete concentration and total absorption with the game. ishiner

I have been wanting to get an ATV for awhile and was at the dealer looking at the 2008 700xx. The dealer said he could sell it to me for 5050.00 OTD to tax out of state. Seems like a good deal to me and from what I've researched a good ATV for the type of terrain I normally ride on. I live in WV and ride mostly rocky, muddy, backwoods trails and roads. I ride mostly with 4x4, rinos, razors, and some sport ATV's. I want something that will not beat the crap out of me on long bumpy rides but can get up an go. I have limited experience owning ATV's but have owned KX 80, KX 125, Honda Foreman 500 4x4, 2003 Honda Rinocon 4x2.

I have a few questions.

How well do they go in mud and water? (not submerged but top of tires)

Can you ride a passenger semi-comfortably?

How much do you have to work the clutch?(can you cruise around in 2nd or 3rd without constantly shifting)

Are the reliable like most Honda's? ($5055.00 seems like its to good to be true when the MSRP is $7999.99)

Will it be hard to get parts in 4-5 years?

any advice, expertise, or experience is greatly appreciated

Thanks

I've been researching my 700XX purchase for a little while and I'll share what I've learned:

Honda has a $2500 rebate on these units.  You should be able to buy one for around $4000-$4200 before any taxes, etc. from a dealer who is willing to work with you.  The used market is absolutely FULL of these things....many with very low use.  The problem is that some people paid $7000-$8000 for one of these just a year ago and they think they're worth $5k or $6K now.  Don't argue with them....just move on...there are plenty to choose from.  I used searchtempest and craiglook to search Craigslist within a 150 mile radius of my home and found over 30 700XXs.  I'm looking at 2 this next week that are both well under $3500 for a near new machine.

They will be reliable.  No worries there.  I've seen plenty of videos online showing people running them in mud and water, but they're not 4WD so they will get stuck in sloppy stuff.  I've read that 2nd in the woods is a pretty common gear to run around in.  No personal experience yet, but enough people have posted this...most run a 13 tooth front sprocket to assist with woods riding.

Honda used to guarantee that you'd be able to get any part for any Honda ever built.  I don't know if that stands today.  I'd say that I might worry in 10 years, but 4-5...no issue.

Check out club700xx.com for some more opinions on the Honda.

Good luck

Hi guys,
The first mod to my TRX700xx was a "Dual Gaser" from Terry Cable.
This unit allows you to use either twist or thumb throttle.

It has a locator pin to lock the hand grip when using the thumb throttle,
and the thumb throttle lever is of longer and looks like a better design than the standard unit.

So this time you can have the best of both worlds,
And I would use nothing other than a twist throttle myself...

I have some pics and info if you wish to email me;
